How much medicine is needed for a 100 year voyage? Will it be feasible to store that much, or must it be produced throughout time? How big of a factory is needed to make a single medicine?
Without the capacity to produce medicine, a ship will be hard pressed to stay healthy throughout the entire voyage. How will a crew combat illness without antibiotics? Will pain relievers be necessary or will new techniques for lessening pain be developed? How bad will colds be?
Dentists need novicane. There are advanced medicines for fighting tougher diseases. How many diseases will be brought onboard that require specific drugs?
